We catch the sunrise from Tumamoc Hill.
Barrels bloom during this time of year here and I want to make sure to take advantage. The hill is covered with them…but I think this one is perfect…
or this one…
Waiting for the sun to rise…there it is!
I pick a simple harmony-good for specific light conditions-in this case; morning light.
Soon after work begins the sun goes behind a cloud and that’s the end of the light. So, we sketchers gather for a trash-pile tour with Owen, the expert.
Composite trash pile-mostly from about the 1940’s.
I’m still looking at those Barrels, whoa! Impressive.
We discover, “buff-chicken-man-holding-up-two-hot-babes”, Rorschach rock art. ( or, the regional interpretation: quail-man with two quail-chicks…) Any other ideas?
And a local tiger rattler (petite but potent) in a classic resting-head-on-rock-while-waiting-for-food-to-scurry-by pose. Thank you macro zoom.
Our guide for today, Owen Davis. Thanks Owen!
