Tumamoc Torch(like) Barrel

We catch the sunrise from Tumamoc Hill.

Barrels bloom during this time of year here and I want to make sure to take advantage.  The hill is covered with them…but I think this one is perfect…

I pick a simple harmony-good for specific light conditions-in this case; morning light.

Soon after work begins the sun goes behind a cloud and that’s the end of the light. So, we sketchers gather for a trash-pile tour with Owen, the expert.

We discover, “buff-chicken-man-holding-up-two-hot-babes”, Rorschach rock art. ( or, the regional interpretation: quail-man with two quail-chicks…) Any other ideas?
