So, this “flying saucer” Lenticularis (cloud) is so scary! Turns out they don’t hold water…all bark and no bite. Still, unpredictable and fast cloud action is deadly for painting.
We do a little sight-seeing instead, before we high-tail it down to a clear spot.
Valerie calls this one “sun angel on Mount Hopkins”. I like it!
Hola, hola, hola…
Better view here at “Elephant Head”. Okay, so we are on the wrong side to see the “Elephant” which is probably better for us.
Don’t get distracted by the cholla, Meredith.
How about this rustic fence?
It heats up faster than expected (always)…and the clouds are totally gone now. Hard to believe we were running from them just a couple hours ago.
Valerie paints the great big rock on a little tiny canvas-muy clever!
This is where I ended up. Definitely a painting for the studio.
Whew, we are outta here!
